"Baby your hands are like rock'n'roll"
We all know it - you hear a cool song somewhere, but don't know what it is.
When I was a kid this used to cause some serious trouble - how to find it? How to find the song that you cannot live without anymore?
Nowadays of course, things are different. With the help of global internet one can easily find out what they're looking for. Googling the lyrics and you should be fine.
Not that this cannot be tricky. Like for example, I heard a song in the TV show Nip/Tuck once, maybe just 10 seconds, but it sparked an eternal flame. So, I looked up the show's fanpages, and as all important TV shows of our time, these sites have sections about the music that was featured in the different episodes. It was easy to find out which song I fell in love with, it said: Emergency - theme song. Yay! So, off to find it. On the internet. Which album is it on, who are the musicians, and how to get it?
Four hours later I had to understand that this band may be cousins of one of the production assistants, or some US local phenomenon that no one ever heard of before. In any way, I could not find the band, nor the song, nor anything that was of help. Obviously, this song was never officially released.. no way to find it. No one had it, no one heard of it.
This must have been about four years ago now. Why do I post this? CARE TO GUESS? I FOUND IT!!!
"Emergency" was sort of right, their name was The Emergency, later they changed it to Enemy Ships and called their first (and only) album "The Emergency". And 'theme song' was on it... and I have it. I HAVE IT!!
Why I googled it again today I don't know. And I was close to giving up again (I'm a good googler, you see? So if it takes me 1 hour to find something, it obviously doesn't exist).
Thanks to the kind people who made this one forum thread about the band and the album - without you, I'd be nothing.
Never, never, never, never give up.

Enthroned - radiance of mordacity (Carnage In Worlds Beyond)
Sentenced - shadegrown (Down)
The Offspring - self esteem (Smash)
Amr Diab - wala leila (Aktar Wahed)
Ceca - zamalo (Gore od ljubavi)
Carpathian Forest - submit to satan!!! (Fuck you all!!!!)
CSS - off the hook (Cansei de Ser Sexy)
Dave Gahan - a little lie (Hourglass)
Gardenian - two feet stand (Two Feet Stand)
Mithotyn - trollvisa (King of Distant Forest)
Hande Yener - kibir[yanmam lazim] (Nasil Delirdim)
The Duskfall - the option and the poison (The Dying Wonders Of The World)
God Dethroned - luciferian episode (The Grand Grimoire)
Deutsche Reimachse - 100% positiv (Bravo Hits 05)
I guess the first thing that actually almost kills the sight on that playlist is the album from Carpathian Forest, the chain of exclamation marks in the song title and album title are real ... its even displayed on the album cover. I have to admint I rather SHRED for satan than submit to him ;-)
Dave Gahan caught my attention in a more positive way, definately worth to listen to more songs of this album, cool stuff. Im glad that most of my playlists are always spiced with some good Turbofolk, Amr Diab, Hande Yener, ...
The end of the list was, sorry to say this ... 100% awful.
back to MM3 and autoDJ :)

Cemetary of Scream - landscape of sadness (Melancholy)
Yesterdays Rising - torn and weathered
Tommy Dorsey feat Frank Sinatra - yearning (Swing Era)
Black Sabbath - sabbra cadabra (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath)
Savatage - warriors (Power of the Night)
Stratovarius - the abyss of your eyes (Visions)
Primal Fear - save a prayer (Jaws of Death)
Sepultura - saga (Nation)
The White Stripes - forever for her [is over for me] (Get Behind Me Satan)

Testament - careful what you wish for (The Gathering)
Velvet Sound Orchestra - milonga sentimental
Sandi Cenov - za mene rodjena (Popravi mi dan)

What a funny ride today - first the melancholic beginning, then the Metal middle and to round it up a quite cheesy goodbye only to throw us out with a wink of genius - 'joan of arc'!

What a wonderful sunday ...
Auf der Maur - Auf der Maur
Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines
Rock Goddess - Rock Goddess
samples from Necrophagist
lunch: Burger & Fries
weather: sunny and warm
not much to add from my side, doesnt this sound already like a perfect sunday @work :). Its nice when you can turn on the music a bit louder without "pestering" your colleagues in the other rooms or probably even scare them with the deep growls from Nile or Necrophagist. The last band was recommended by a friend and the first few samples sound interesting, bit progressive approach imo.
They made a cool ending to "only ash remains" taken from the theme that is played in the scene "Dance of Knights" in Prokofiev's ballet Romeo & Juliet. Well Hollenthon made a whole song out of that theme, Lords of Bedlam :)
Rock Goddess fit perfectly to the warm and sunny day and to the last hour of my shift at work.
