I have thought about putting music (and emotions) into written words and tend to say that I will - if I will - write reviews on rateyourmusic in German instead of English, because it's easier for me and will maybe motivate me to write more. Maybe. I still think that rating music is a difficult task, without a doubt.
So, anyway - the journey.. on the train I've listened to Ebru Gündeş - Kaçak and Satyricon - Nemesis Divina.
I've also tried to listen to Reroute to Remain (In Flames), but I didn't like it... So I went back to Dream Dance Vol. 48 (feat. Topmodelz - entre dos tierras <3) and Kontor - House of House Vol. 1 (feat. Euphonix - my girl wants 2 party)
Today I had another small revelation listening to Theatre of Tragedy's Velvet Darkness They Fear. I remember I bought the album quite cheap a couple of years ago, listened to it once while I was working on the PC and never touched it again. But today - outside - in the sun - of course, everything was different, and I loved listening to this classic Gothic Metal album. Seen as single components one could criticize the keyboard sound, maybe the growls, maybe the demureness that is so apparent. But as a whole, this album totally worked for me. Maybe it will not work again in a rainy city in front of a PC. But then again, you can always close your eyes and let the artists take you back to where you loved and lived the songs.
I gave Nemesis Divina another spin before starting to "really listen" to Britney Spears' latest album Blackout. The first couple of songs, as expected - really good beats, but all killed by a soulless and seemingly indifferent Britney. There's a lot to be said about this, and we'll see...
